Curriculum and Activities

We want our children to enjoy their time with us and so the Nursery day is structured and planned so that the children feel confident to try and experiment with new ideas, happy in the knowledge that they will be encouraged by the nursery staff.


The Nursery curriculum is thorough : a balance of both child and adult initiated activities are carefully planned and observed to cover all seven areas of learning recommended for the education and welfare of children in the early years of their development (The Foundation Stage).

E.Y.F.S. (Early Years Foundation Stage)

There are three PRIME AREAS of learning :

Personal, Social and Emotional development

Physical development

Communication and Language

There are four SPECIFIC AREAS of learning and development



Understanding of the world

Expressive Arts and Design


 Visits and Visitors

We enhance our programme of activities further by inviting a number of outside visitors who "bring to life" some areas of learning by involving the children in their work or hobbies e.g. Firemen, Police, Paramedics, Zoolab.

The older children also enjoy fully escorted seasonal trips to the local park and a working farm.
